Truth be told, I had not even really thought about owning a Mustang until I got this issue of Motor Trend. I still feel the way I felt about it back in 93/94. I am very happy that this was not the new Mustang. The Mustang has always needed defining body lines - something I felt this concept lacked. This looks like a Mustang got trapped in a well used bar of soap.
You can see some really great features that were taken from this design though, like the hood and wheels. This type of scoop was actually originally on the Maverick, but I really feel this helped bring it to the Mustang.

Nice observation Shane, I never really noticed the Maverick being like that before. You're absolutely right, there were a lot of similar design ques used in that concept.
This model is still my favorite Cobra.

I don't like the back, it looks like the front got rear ended by a BMW...

I am partial to that model as well. The issue of Motor Trend I speak of has holographic image of the 94 GT on the cover.
I just looked at the motor a bit more. That's a DOHC mod motor with what I believe to be an Eaton supercharger (correct me if I am wrong Rick). That setup didn't see action in a Mustang until 2003. Sent from my WM8850-mid using Tapatalk 2 |

I am wrong. That concept was not in the MT issue I thought. I have it in an issue of something, somewhere.
Here is the MT issue (Nov 93), and also an old Popular Mechanics issue (Aug 89). Sent from a Commodore 64 using a 300 baud modem |

That's great that you still have those magazines. I just noticed back in '94 the MT magazine was listed at $3.25 on the cover and it's $5.00 today lol.

I need to get some pics of some of the contents of the PM issue from 1989 (in my pic). It has a couple of concepts in it. |
