If my buddy would join (he told me that he came and looked around), he can pretty much tell you any damn thing you'd ever want to know about lighting. Also very big into car audio. Dude is a wealth of knowledge in lots of areas.

Hint hint Kirk

perhaps that's the difference ? my silver stars lasted me 6 months. I don't THINK they were ultras.

yep, I had silverstars and usually about 6 months is all, and always at the most inoportune time.

I have owned my Mustang since 1995. I have only replaced the headlights ONCE since I bought it. They are regular run-of-the-mill Sylvania's. I was thinking the other day that these bulbs have now been in 3 different housings. In fact... I still have 2 factory bulbs in it as well - the painted orange style. Really bothers me because when the light hits it right, you can tell they aren't the same bulb.

so my thinking was that the ultras last a hell of a lot longer.

I have some regular sylvania xtravisions I got for $11 (employee discount at oreillys was worth it) in the Mazda... might as well transfer them to the Toyota, I just bought em a few months ago and these ones seem dim. 9004 ftw.

I paid right at $50 for the pair, and while a little pricey, for the length of time they last and the amount of light they put out, its well worth it...

No threadjacking here, still talking about lights! I thought about getting rigid's 42" LED bar, and while definitely pricey, it turns the darkest night's into daytime...

oh man rigids are sweet... I see all these Toyota guys with them and they love the things! then again their other cars are dodge vipers and Corvettes etc so the cost isn't too bad for them. wtf.
