2015 Mustang

What do you guys think of the design?

There will also be an optional 2.0 Liter Ecoboost motor found in the Focus ST.

Is that 4 cylinder official now? Last week it was called a "rumor". I also heard the Ken Block was shown the real deal (on the S550 platform) by Ford a few weeks ago.

These are the photos with the release I read:

I've seen a few renderings, but take everything I see on the 'net with a large grain of salt. That being said, I like the current bodystyle enough that I decided to not wait and placed my order last Friday for a '14, even though this car promises to have many improvements.

I like the red one better, blends Mustang plus Euro influence rather well imo.

Congrats Doug.

The current body style is very nice, but more than anything I like the power increase on all the newer models, esp the V6.

Hey look!! The Fusion coupe!!

Just kidding...but that grill and headlight treatment (the whole front fascia, really) is straight Fusion goodness with a Mustang emblem added in.

I like the proportions and the lines...if Ford does as well with the new Mustang as they have with the new Fusion, I will have to seriously avoid the dealerships for a while to remove temptation...was close to picking up a Mustang 'vert when they couldn't deliver my Fusion right away back in Nov. (Glad I waited for the Fusion though)

That was my first thought.
Each iteration since the original has always tried to keep visual cues or physical cues to the original. That rendering steps so far back it screams more of a 2 door fusion.
people have always bought the mustang for its heritage, not because of some new body design. It's always been a car with massive amounts of aftermarket that people can personalize and make theirs in one way or another.
as far as the 4 cyl... it wasn't popular when they tried it in the 80's. and considering an st focus gets 29mpg (supposedly, most are saying 25), and puts out a whopping 250hp... why? the 3.7 easily does 31mpg w/auto and puts out 305hp, why would anyone want to downgrade in hp and mpg?
remember, the mustang weighs about 300lbs or more than an st, would be in a rwd configuration, and have other factors when using the ecoboost 4cyl that would seriously rob it of power, mileage, and anything performance. a true slap in the face to enthusiasts. The mustang is a sports car, the fusion already has an ecoboost option.
What next ford, a briggs in the focus?

Sorry... turned into a rant
