Some of those are really great looking cars - most specifically the Super Coupes. IMO, the years 58-82 are sinful. I'd rock a 57, or an 83 and newer though.

I remember seeing the 86 or 87 turbo owned by a teacher in elementary school and thought they were so futuristic looking. I still think they aged pretty well.

Ah yes, I forgot about the Turbo Coupe. Those were very cool as well. I really dig the 85/86's. These had options for items that came on the Mustang GT. In the pic below, the wheels (affectionately dubbed the "phone dial" wheels) were standard on the 85 and 86 GT's. The Marchal fog lights were also standard equipment on the GT's.

This was similar to the one that she had. But now that you pointed it out, its cool to see shared parts. I didn't realized they also detuned the SVO motor down to only 150 horsepower on these coupes because of the auto transmission.

It's a shame Ford couldn't keep them going but I guess the Mustang kind of took it's place in the lineup.

If Ford would have done it right, there would have been plenty of market for the Thunderbird. The 2001 model was overpriced and under performed.

That may be true, but off the top of my head, there really isn't any comparable cars still on the market. Most of the personal coupes have vanished. There just doesn't seem to be a market for that style car anymore unless you move up into the premium markets.
