2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Gets Price Hike

The 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe starts at $55,445, reflecting a $450 price increase over the 2013 model.
The 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible starts at $60,445, including shipping, also reflecting a $450 price increase over the 2013 model.
Ford held the line on pricing for the base 2014 Ford Mustang V6 coupe, which starts at $22,995, including shipping.


DEARBORN, Michigan — The 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe starts at $55,445, including a $795 destination charge, reflecting a $450 price increase over the 2013 model, according to pricing posted at Ford.com.

The 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible starts at $60,445, including shipping, also reflecting a $450 price increase over the 2013 model.

The Shelby GT500s are the top-of-the-line Mustang models.

A $2,995 SVT Track Pack for the 2014 Shelby GT500 adds a Torsen differential, 19-inch painted forged aluminum front wheels and 20-inch painted forged aluminum rear wheels, unique rear springs and SVT-designed Bilstein electronic adjustable dampers.

The 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe starts at $54,995, including a $795 destination charge. The 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible starts at $59,995, including shipping.

Ford held the line on pricing for the base 2014 Ford Mustang V6 coupe, which starts at $22,995, including shipping. There was no price increase on the 2014 Ford Mustang V6 convertible, which starts at $27,995, including shipping.

The 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe is priced below one of its chief competitors, the top-of-the-line 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The 2013 Camaro ZL1 starts at $56,550, including a $900 destination charge and a $1,300 gas-guzzler tax. The Shelby GT500 coupe is $1,105 cheaper than the Camaro ZL1. Chevrolet has not yet announced 2014 Camaro pricing. The 2014 Camaro is set to debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show.

The 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe is $8,455 more expensive than the top-of-the-line 2013 Dodge Charger SRT8. The 2013 Charger SRT8 starts at $46,990, including a $995 destination charge and a $1,000 gas-guzzler tax. Pricing for the 2014 Dodge Charger has not been announced.

The Mustang is expected to be redesigned for the 2015 model year.

450 dollars isn't too bad. That's probably less than half of a payment.

I bet the 2015 gets a significant increase.

In today's economy, not bad at all, less than 1% increase. Wonder what the profit margin is on one.

Not including holdback, just shy of $4800 from invoice to MSRP in regards to base price. Adding option packages and such will bump that figure up a bit.
